A Good Man

Not all men are dogs
Trust me I know what I am saying
I am living proof to what I believe in
Let me explain to you women that can’t see
What a good man should really be

That guy should be smart
But he doesn’t have to be clean
One that keeps his word
And sticks to what he means

His thoughts are gentle and no selfishness in his eye
Ready to give you the shirt off his back
Even if the rain was falling from the sky

When it comes to his family
You know he will provide
And protect them like a father should
And keeps integrity by his side

His woman would never have to worry
If her man has gone astray
Cause this is a good man
And in her arms is the only place he lays

This man knows when he has
A good woman by his side
For she follows him close
Like a kid hopping down a candy aisle
And he will never give up
The opportunity to have her by his side

He always wears a smile
Even when he had a bad day
For the words that come out of his mouth
Will always be kind gestures you will hear him say

He doesn’t have a big ego
Nor believes in showing off
For everything about him
Should show what he is made of

He loves his wife like a mother
And cares for her like no other
The thoughtful things he do
Really shows that he cares for you
Whatever brings a smile to your face
Or makes the world a happier place
Just goes to show the love he shares
For all the love ones around him that really care

This good guy would please you
In all ways that you should
From the top of your head
All the way down to your toes

A good guy would sit you down
And rub those feet of yours after a long day
And makes sure his boys know
That they have to go their way
You are his woman
And they can’t get in the way

A good guy would be more than just your man
But your lover your brother your confidant and your best friend
Trust me this guy has passion
And would hate to see you cry
He will hold you in his arms
And wipe those tears dry

You may feel this is a dream
And this can’t be reality
For you can’t find this man
Inside of your society

But he is out there trust me
I know what I mean
Even though everything you see
Doesn’t look good as it seems
Just have faith and wait patiently
God will send him in a dream
